Countdown to our Trip Down Under

This was a very busy week and the weather has played havoc on our plans! I was supposed to arrive back from the UK on Monday evening and travel down to Gerry’s place that same evening. My car was parked at the Long Parking Garage at Schiphol Airport. However due to the excessive snow storm both in the Uk and the Netherlands, flights from Luton Airport were delayed by 24 hours which meant I missed the Citibank Alumni on Tuesday evening.

To save some costs (and have more spending money, I cancelled my car’s road tax for the next three months and the BMW will be packed into a cosy cover on Gerry’s driveway  for the time we are away so that the cruel winter will not have much effect on it.

Now everything is packed and waiting for Gerry’s (grand) children so that we go for our last meal together before we head off Down Under tomorrow evening. Gerry’s grand daughter, Gaby,  thinks I am kidnapping her “opa”……. Oh yes and I was more or less requested to bring Opa back for his birthday on April 1st!

This is all very exciting as Gerry and I will be spending at least three months together starting first in Singapore for a 3 day visit followed by a week on Bali (that is if Mount Agung will not have another eruption), then onto New Zealand for a month and finally Australia! More to follow – just watch this space……
